Description
The print is drawn in house and screened in Como on a 16 momme silk twill, then garment washed so it has a matte hand rather than the shine you get from a raw twill. The bodice is cut on the straight grain to hold its shape and the skirt is cut on a shallow bias, which is why it swings rather than swings out.
The ground is a deep ink blue with a bloom of muted rose and sage across it. Reads dark from a distance, and only shows itself as a floral up close — which is the reason it works for a dinner and for a Tuesday.
Fabric and make
- 100% mulberry silk twill, 16 momme, garment washed
- Lined at the bodice in silk habotai; skirt unlined
- Covered buttons to the waist, concealed side zip
- Printed and made in Italy
Fit
True to size, close at the bodice and easy through the skirt. If you take a larger cup size, we suggest sizing up for the bodice and having the waist taken in.
Model is 175 cm and wears AU 8.
Flat measurements
Taken with the garment laid flat, in centimetres. Bust, waist and hip are half measurements — double them to compare against your own body measurement. If you are between two sizes, the fit note above tells you which way we would go.

Care
Dry clean only. Silk marks with water and with alcohol — blot, do not rub. Store on a padded hanger away from direct light.

The silk is the good kind. It has weight. I wore it to a gallery opening and then to Christmas lunch and it looked right at both.
