Description
Half canvassed, which means the chest piece is stitched rather than fused. It costs more to make and it is the reason a jacket keeps its shape at the lapel roll after three years instead of bubbling. The shoulder is soft, with a thin sleeve head and no pad beyond a whisper of wadding.
Cut a little long and a little loose, to wear over a knit as easily as over a shirt. Two patch pockets and one welt at the chest, all of them functional. Sleeve buttons are set but not opened, so a tailor can shorten the sleeve from the cuff.
Fabric and make
- 54% wool, 44% polyester, 2% elastane, 320 gsm
- Half canvassed front, viscose body lining, cupro sleeve lining
- Two patch pockets, one chest welt, four sleeve buttons
- Cloth woven in Italy, made in Portugal
Fit
Relaxed. Take your usual size for the intended fit. Size down for a closer, more formal line — the shoulder will still sit correctly one size down on most people.
Model is 175 cm and wears AU 8.
Flat measurements
Taken with the garment laid flat, in centimetres. Bust, waist and hip are half measurements — double them to compare against your own body measurement. If you are between two sizes, the fit note above tells you which way we would go.
| Measurement (cm) | AU 6 | AU 8 | AU 10 | AU 12 | AU 14 | AU 16 |

Care
Dry clean only. Hang on a broad hanger, never on a wire one. Brush after wearing rather than cleaning after every wear — wool cleans itself with air.

Excellent jacket. Sleeves ran long for me at 162 cm, took them up 3 cm.

Camel that is actually camel and not mustard. Goes over everything.

The half canvas is not marketing. I had it altered and my tailor commented on the construction.
