Description
The formal end of what we make. Double breasted with a peak lapel, six buttons with two to fasten, and a waist that is genuinely suppressed rather than implied. The back is cut with a single vent deep enough to sit down in.
The cloth is a 260 gsm wool suiting with a very slight twill. Navy at this depth reads as a considered choice in a room, where black often reads as a default. Pairs with the Sylvie trousers in the same cloth.
Fabric and make
- 98% wool, 2% elastane suiting, 260 gsm
- Fused front with a floating chest piece, viscose lining
- Peak lapel, six button double breast, single back vent
- Cloth from Vitale Barberis Canonico, made in Portugal
Fit
Close through the waist. If you carry width across the back or intend to wear it over knitwear, size up.
Model is 174 cm and wears AU 10.
Flat measurements
Taken with the garment laid flat, in centimetres. Bust, waist and hip are half measurements — double them to compare against your own body measurement. If you are between two sizes, the fit note above tells you which way we would go.
| Measurement (cm) | AU 6 | AU 8 | AU 10 | AU 12 | AU 14 | AU 16 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shoulder | 38 | 39 | 40 | 41 | 42 | 43 |
| Bust | 89 | 94 | 99 | 104 | 109 | 114 |

| Length, back neck to hem | 69 | 70 | 71 | 72 | 73 | 74 |
Care
Dry clean only. Press with a cloth between the iron and the cloth if you press it at home — wool suiting shines under direct heat and the shine is permanent.

Beautiful cloth. It is a slim cut through the waist — I went up one size and it was right.

Wore it to a board interview. It does the job a good jacket is supposed to do, which is to stop being the thing anyone notices.
